Early August 1998 I saw considerable activity on the Sun, with a number of large sunspot groups appearing. Below is an image drawn on 9th August at 1400 UT, projecting with my 90mm refractor and 25mm eyepiece. Areas shown as unshaded shapes are faculae (bright areas).

In case anyone reading this page doesn't already know, NEVER EVER look at the sun directly. All my observations are made by projecting the sun's image and viewing the projection only. | |
