Magnificent Egos Hawk Silverblade |
Well, here's the first ME figure, in just about a
week too. I'm both pleased and surprised at how well he's painted up. The
Regency look of the costume (Ok, I know he's not really Regency with that metal
thing on his shoulder etc. But he's a fantasy figure, and I'm talking about the
overall look), is somehow continued in the face. I may have to revise my view of
the range - he pretty much does look like an "Uncommon Character".
It's just a pity he doesn't look like Colin Firth! (Sigh.) |

ME Sirrilo, Elven Justiciar (painted as a drow) |
Another Magnificent Ego figure. Supposedly an elf,
but I decided to paint him as a drow (you always need more villains than heroes,
if the heroes are worthy of the name). In fact, I have used this figure a lot
recently for my PC mage, who has spent some weeks polymorphed into drow form to
spy in a drow underground city. A nice, useable figure - not sure I would
believe him as a "good" elf, however - he looks a little too
arrogant... |

Thunderbolt Mountain Female fighter |
When you look at a Tom Meier figure, you realise how
out of proportion most gaming figures actually are. Fine, delicate detail makes
these figures real pigs to paint, but the result is more real and less cartoony
than virtually any others. This one is definitely a paladin type, or Eowyn
maybe, rather than my more usual rough mercenary characters. She belongs in a
world of chivalry. |

Thunderbolt Mountain Elf Lady |
Another very high fantasy figure - straight out of
Lord Dunsany. Again beautiful and delicate - thank heavens for a magnifying
visor! |

Thunderbolt Mountain Elf Lady on horse |
Same figure on horseback. |

Sea horse figure -sculpted by Gael Goumon,
manufactured by Eastern Front Studios (Fathoms Deep line) (many thanks to
Katherine, Queen of Credits, for the information!) |
I bought this figure last summer and promptly lost
the packaging. An unusual figure, and fun to paint. |
