Newbold World is a setting created by Ian Newbold.
The figures are intended for wargames set in his worlds; currently these are
mostly fantasy figures (including some quirky and original fantasy races), but
sci-fi ones are also appearing. Newbold World is very much Ian's personal

his website. Although intended for
wargaming many of the figures have a considerable degree of personality, and
they are very reasonably priced. |

sent out to show the overall scale and quality of the figures. The casting
quality on this one and others I have bought is excellent. |

Who said female warriors have to be conventionally
attractive? This figure really looks like she would use that sword. Peter
obviously liked her as well - the paint was barely dry before he used her as a
significant NPC. |

I altered the end of the staff slightly - in the original, it has a blast of
flame gushing from it. |

Oonagh Campbell and Valentina McTaggart |
Generals from the Velvet Glove, an all-female
cavalry group. I haven't painted them in uniform. Valentina is painted to match
a standing figure I have from a different range. I also really like to see a
middle-aged woman (Oonagh) - you rarely seem to see anything between young women
and hags. |

Impressive dragonish general with bodyguards to keep
his lessers in line. Technically this is a Grak-mi, more heavily built than the
Grak-su above. Another figure with personality (unlike his bodyguards who
wouldn't dare get above themselves by having personalities!). |

Mounted grak-su. Unfortunately, as far as I know
these are only available as mounted figures - personally, I would like to see
some standing versions of these. But then, I'm a rolegamer not a wargamer! |
