This gallery is rather different to the others. It features a number of old figures from my collection. Most of these are out of production. The figures were painted several years ago, in some cases a lot of years ago…. Also, these figures have been gamed with, so the paintwork has suffered somewhat!

Anyway, to start with I have a collection from Prince August and Mithril. In the late 80s and early 90s Prince August manufactured a range of generic fantasy figures. At the time they were huge figures, standing over 30mm tall! Now, of course, everyone else has caught up! Later, Mithril set up, making figures specifically based on Tolkien, and after a while Prince August reverted to only making moulds again. (This is from memory; I'm not quite sure of the timings.) Mithril is of course still going strong. This collection includes figures from both ranges; the styles are very similar. Both sets of figures have always been very popular as PC figures.

From here on, virtually all the figures are by Mithril, which was the Lord of the Rings division of Prince August. All these are Mithril circa 1990. | |
